The Philippine accessory industry started back in the 1970’s; since then it has been using natural and indigenous materials available throughout the archipelago. From the raw materials to the finished products, the industry has been promoting eco-friendly jewelry.

With the growing demand for green products across the world. The Philippines is positioning itself as Asia’s Destination for Green Jewelry.

With this in mind, Cebu FAME Foundation has identified the need to ensure the sustainability of the country’s natural resources, with the support of The Department of Environment and Natural Resources and the international community. In 2008, Go Green Philippines was launched with its pilot project, planting 25,000 Mamalis seedlings over an area of 10 hectares of timberland located in Catmon, Cebu.
